To view the amount of time that XP has been running with out rebooting or restarting the computer:
1) Open the Command Prompt (located under Accessories) or go to START - RUN
2) Type systeminfo
3) Once the system has finished gathering the information, scroll up and the time is displayed in the System Up Time field.
As you can see, running systeminfo also gives a lot of useful information.

Thnx for this tip. But do you with the systeminfo command you can also view the original date and time of your windows installation which could be useful for many reasons. For this follow the same steps:-
1) Press Winkey + R.
2) Type CMD.
3) At the prompt type systeminfo.
4) Under original install date you can find the installation date and
time of installation.
