How to Buy Windows 8.1

Posted in Windows 8 by Steve Sinchak

Windows 8.1 is available in two editions for consumers: Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Pro.  32 and 64-bit versions are available, but I highly recommend installing the 64-bit version. Unless you have some very old hardware, skip the 32-bit versions.

There are a few different ways to buy Windows 8.1.  The days of the $14.99 and $39.99 upgrade offers are long over, but you will still find some good deals below:

Microsoft Store

The OEM versions of Windows 8.1 are intended to be purchased by system builders and enthusiasts.  The only difference is in the software terms of use.  They state that the software cannot be transferred to another computer once installed, and no support services from Microsoft are included.

This page is updated periodically to display the latest deals for Windows 8.1.  By purchasing via these links you will not only get a good deal, but you will also help support us with our affiliated partnership with Amazon and Microsoft.
