If you own a Google Chromecast streaming device, you can easily share a browser tab in Chrome browser or even your entire desktop.  This can be very useful when presenting from your laptop or if you just want to watch something on a big screen that is only on your PC.  The only requirement is you must be on the same network as your Chromecast device and using a recent version of the Chrome browser.

Keeping an eye on your system performance is a must for any power user but using Task Manager or Resource Monitor can be inconvenient.  In Windows Vista Microsoft created sidebar gadgets that displayed useful performance information on the right side of your screen.  Unfortunately, Microsoft pulled the feature from Windows due to “serious vulnerabilities.”   Picking up where Microsoft left off, a new utility was created by Ryan K. (ArcadeRenegade) on GitHub called Sidebar Diagnostics.  This free utility displays all of the important system performance stats on a sidebar with a simplistic design.

Act Now to Keep 15 GB Free OneDrive Storage and Camera Bonus

Early November Microsoft made the controversial decision to cut the amount of free OneDrive storage from 15 GB to just 5 GB.  In addition, Microsoft also decided to eliminate the camera roll bonus.  This has caused a number of users to abandon ship, but that may be unnecessary as Microsoft is offering current users of OneDrive to opt out of the upcoming changes and keep the 15 GB of free store and the camera roll bonus.

DNS (Domain Name Service) plays a critical role in the operation of all web browsers.  When you type in a domain, such as Tweaks.com, your browser must resolve the address into an IP address so your computer can talk to the site's server and download the web page.  Once the page is downloaded, it is processed by the browser, which then can trigger hundreds of downloads as the various resources on the page are fetched. Many of these requests for resources go to different domains which also must be resolved before the browser can download the file.  The result is a lot of domain resolutions, which makes the performance of your DNS provider critical to your web browsing speed.
