If you have XP Home and want to disable the screen that Windows shows when you insert certain cds then follow this guide!

To disable autoplay for cd/dvd drives and removable media

1: Copy & Paste the following into Notepad:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoDriveTypeAutoRun"=dword:000000b5

2: Save as a registry (.reg) file

3: Run the file to add the settings to the registry and there you have it - no more autorun or pop-ups!

It doesn't work! I'm tired a the autorun every time! Most annoying/useless thing ever. I have disabled it awhile ago, but I forget how.

You should be able to configure this thru the GUI. Right-click the drive in 'My Computer' and select 'Properties' then 'AutoPlay' tab. For each content type, select 'No Action'. Select 'Apply' to save the changes. This should turn off AutoPlay.
