This also disables the maddening mysterious intermittent "scritch scritch" or "whoosh whoosh" noise. That noise bothered me for three years before I finally figured out that it was associated with the search window. I would like to meet the person who thought this noise was a good idea and ... well, I wouldn't like to shake their hand.
