Hi,i recently purchased a razer boomslang mouse, the problem im having is it took a while to recognise the device in any usb port and when it eventually recognised it and i installed the xp drivers it was fine until i rebooted my machine and nothing??so i had to reinsert my microsoft explorer optical trackball to enable me to find my razer again.Due to this problem i am now running my razer from the ps2 port with standard mouse drivers, the problem with this is that there are no boomslang drivers available for ps2 connection so i am unable to benefit from the extra features the boomslang offers.I uninstalled the drivers for my old mouse using device manager,Please help!!!!thanx

Did you follow the installation routine as laid out by the manufacturer?(I've known of some that need you to install the drivers before the device is installed in a USB port).
Welcome to the Forum, too!

did you try reinstalling the drivers fresh? Delete the old ones and try that. Was your trackball mouse also a usb? Maybe it has something to do with your usb ports? If not i would just say that it seems you're going through a lot of trouble for that mouse and maybe you should consider returning it. It definately should be a problem that can be fixed though.

i tried connecting the mouse before and after and still no luck,it runs fine until i reboot then the mouse becomes an unknown device but as soon as i plug in my trackball in a different usb it is recognised immediately.i used to run the trackball from a ps2 but it is recognised straight away in a usb also.

Tried different USB ports on your PC? (How many do you have, too?)
