Loads faster :-) especially when MS puts 1500 supporting drivers for the various hardware in it, and virus checking and a pre-os firewall and reverse compatabilty , and wireless support , and usb support and, and, and, it will be as speedy as the vast speed increaces from the XP boot sequence . oh boy thats an improvement.
OK, so i am Guessing, but i try hard

Something new; to cause all-new and unheard of problems.
Interesting though.
I wonder if they'll try to get rid of the certain options that are used for o/c'ing.
Cheers,
Josh

I don't think it will be adopted for many years. There are more players than Intel and Microsoft in the PC market and it will have to be integrated across all hardware and software platforms if it is going to replace the current BIOS.

I don't like the sound of it. It seems it is along the lines of Palladium.
It seems that maybe before they even allow the machine to boot, they are going to have something check all your software (maybe for licenses) and not boot your machine if you have figured out a way to overcome the time limits on shareware.
Am I paranoid or what, I can't think of a reason to take away the fun and frustration of mastering BIOS each time you rebuild your system.
