| Is there a way to configure Windows 7 to run Windows Mail? I see the folder there but not the .exe file. I changed the folder view to see hidden files and still don't see a file for the mail. Is there a way to use Windows Mail on Windows 7?

As I understand it, Windows Mail has been replaced by Windows Live Mail, which is part of the Windows Live Essential package. However, it is possible to download, install and run Windows Live Mail as a standalone email client - which is what I do.
I had been a long-time user of Outlook Express running under Windows XP and had to switch to Windows Live Mail when I upgraded my PC to a Windows 7 machine.
The program is similar to Windows Mail and it will be very easy for you to import all of your mail, contacts, etc. into Windows Live Mail once it's up and running.
Have a look at the following link:

| Thanks but it's not the same. Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail are both on the directory. The Windows Mail .exe is not accessible and won't run.

| And I really want Windows Mail to use with Calendar, which sends alerts/reminders whereas Windows Live does not. My back up was Outlook but the password disappears each time after log off. So I could really use Windows Mail or something compatable that offers a Calendar with reminder alerts. Thanks...
