I just moved into a new apartment and I need to get internet in my room. The internet is cable. The modem is in the living room which is on the other side of the apartment and we don't want to run a 30 ft. ethernet cable, plus I need internet to a computer and an xbox so just one cable won't do. Is there a way to add another modem or router to the cable jack in my room? Will it degrade the speed of the cable?
Many thanks,
-Charlie

You need to get yourself a Wireless router, and the necessary adapters etc.
Go to your local pc store, explain exactly what you have at present [cable modem],and what you want to acheive, they'll be pleased to help out.

Thanks! I didn't want to go the wireless route, but I'll go to Best Buy and Radioshack and see what they think.
Thanks again
