This is what I wanted to know

i was jw if firefox is any good. Any better than ie7/8?

Umm.. about the windows xp service pack 2. What would happen if i removed it completely from my computer? Is it a MUST to have it? Also, someone said if i saved the uninstall folders on a disk and later on i wanted to uninstall windows xp service pack 2, i can just put those files back on to my computer and have no problem uninstalling it. Is that true?

And.. I know im not using both of internet explorers, 7 and 8, but I have the both of them on my computer in my windows folder.. each folder says "ie7", "ie7updates", ie8", and "ie8 updates". Do I need to keep them both on my computer? or can I delete any?

"- I have that file, but only difference is, is that it doesnt say "\Download" at the ending of the file. Is that still the samething? and if so, may I delete it like it says I can on that site? or do i need it?

You can disable Automatic Updates, delete the files in that folder, then-enable Automatic Updates. But if you are that low on space you really need to get another hd.-"(How would I go about doing this?)

Again, sorry with the questions, just wanna make sure before I do anything stupid, lol

Already answered - it's a matter of personal preference

No idea what this question is.

Allan (11/19/2009)

What if I removed the uninstalls for windows xp service pack 2, and put them on a disk for later on when i wanted to remove windows xp service pack 2, will that work? because on some site it said that I would be able to do that later on.

Do I absolutely need windows xp service pack 2 on my computer? and what would happen if i removed it completely?

In my c drive, in the windows folder, I have 4 folders and each says "ie7", "ie7updates", "ie8", and "ie8updates". Do I need all of those? or am i able to delete any?

You said after I disable automatic updates, i can delete the files in there. Where and how do i delete those files?

On a site I was given to look at from here, it says this... "5. The file "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" may also be safely deleted.
Depending on installation method of the service Pack, this file may not be present."I have that file, but only difference is, is that it doesnt say "\Download" at the ending of the file. All Im wondering is if my file is the same as the one listed above, and if it is, am i able to delete it like it says I can?

Sorry for all of the questions, but I do very much appreciate your help

A few months ago you where posting almost exactly the same questions about saving on hard drive space, and if i remember correctly you told us your hard drive was only 8 or 10GB in size.
You said at the time you was going to purchase a larger drive which was suggested, which you still haven't done.
You're wasting your time, and others, with these continual questions regarding the saving of drive space.

Umm.. about the windows xp service pack 2. What would happen if i removed it completely from my computer?

Its strongly recommended to have all service packs installed, including Service Pack 3,and all the latest important/high priority updates installed for the smooth running and security of the operating system.

You need to back up all/any important data, get yourself a larger drive, for example 100GB,then reinstall XP on to that.
If you're not able to fit the drive yourself then you should get someone to do it for you who knows exactly what they're doing.

Richie, I know, and that's why I apologized in the 2 or 3 previous posts. I cannot get a larger drive, or new computer at this moment. I will eventually, but at this time, I seriously cant
That's why I wanted to know if i could delete any of that stuff I mentioned above, only because i read on sites that i could, but it could be a lie and i wouldnt wanna delete/remove them and then i screw myself over in the end.

Sorry again.
