Hello,

I was wondering if some one can tell how to change the default settings in the new word pad program that comes with windows-7, in the Vista version once you change the font and line spacings and close the program...the next time it is started the last settings were saved.

Well with the new version every thing reverts back to it's primary settings and I find it very annoying. Is there a registry setting that can be modified to correct this?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheer's, Keith

I certainly don't see a way to do it. Nor do there appear to be any OPTIONS or PREFERENCES settings.

please please please find a way to solve this question. I also would really like this problem solved.

To add what happens when you want to add text to a document already created.

- You need to open a new document and then copy and paste the old text into it and then add new text. This must be done everytime if you want to have no spacing. Now it can be done witha few more steps without opening anew doc. but the fastest way to get the work done is by making a new one.

Way to go Windows 7 Word Document Team!! Not...

Hello daisuke9,

I have found a way around this problem...I looked at post No. 254904 (Elderkain) and followed his procedure regarding MSPaint (XP Vers.), worked fine for me. You can also do the same with wordpad which is located in the c:/program files/windows NT/accessories folder, rename to wordpad_win7 (or similar) then find a copy of the windows XP wordpad and copy to the same folder...and presto you have the original wordpad back again.

(I had an XP copy on one of my backup drives). Hope this helps!, Cheer's, Keith.
