I downloaded the logon changer a few days ago, then changed the image to something else. Today, the logon screen has been reverted back to its default state, and I don't know how or why. The computer has not been restarted, I have not done any system wide changes.

Is this a upgraded computer or one that shipped with Windows 7?
Thanks!

I've had this exact same problem (Windows 7 clean installed on a Lenovo that came with vista)
It's puzzled me as it's happened a few times when I haven't done anything major to the computer.
Then today it happened and I realised that the only thing I had done was to try a different theme.
So I tried changing my theme and sure enough the logon screen defaulted.
If I have time later I'll experiment to see if it's just the official themes that came with 7, or all themes including the ones I've made myself.

Looks like some themes have the setting in them
SetLogonBackground=0

| I have the same thing happen when I change the theme. The logon screen reverts to the default. Also, I use Windowblinds by Stardock and when I was in (again) changing the logon screen, I couldn't make any changes because there were no controls (button) on the bottom of the window. I tried changing the Windowblinds back to the Windows 7 default and then I had buttons appear on the logon change window when I ran it again and so I could change it. What is going on? Wouldn't have been a problem if the logon screen would stay put where I put it.

Looks like the stock MS themes all include that entry in the .theme file which is causing it to switch. Basically the theme say use the windows default which removes any customizations.
