I have always used Pc Pitstop optimize to optimize my computers. I used to have vista on this laptop I currently have but I decided to install xp.

I have now got rid of xp and done a nice fresh install of 7 I like it, but wow is the internet slow.
These are the tweaks that PC Pitstop recommends that I do, I dont have the full new version so I have decided I could learn how to make these tweaks myself.

Here goes...

1. How would I change these settings
Internet Settings
HTTP (2 changes recommended)ProxyHttp1.1=1
SyncMode5=4
TCP/IP (3 changes recommended)MTU=1492
EnablePMTUBHDetect=1
TcpMaxDupAcks=2

2.
Performance Tweaks
Windows 7: MenuShowDelay=250
Windows 7: ThumbnailLivePreviewHoverTime=250
Windows 7: ExtendedUIHoverTime=250

They suggest other things to change but I can either do these myself, or I dont want to do them at all.

Thanks for any help with this.

You would have to edit them in the registry. I know there was some guide somewhere explaining how to change the menu times in the registry but I don't remember where.

For Windows 7 (and Vista) the only tweaking you need for your internet connection is the SG TCP/IP Patch, just go to the bottom of the page and download the .bat file and run it as the Administrator, this will set all of your TCP/IP settings to what they should be for optimal performance.
