| using windows xp pro 2002 Hi,
For some weird reason today when I turned my pc on, my volume control/mixer was not in my taskbar. I cannot acess it through start/run & when I go to control panel/ sounds & devices & tick the box to display the volume control in the bottom right(taskbar) I get a error messege saying, The volume control programme has not been installed. I do have volume control via my creative sound blaster audigy zs soundcard however I need to acess the windows volume mixer as I need to use the recording tabs, eg, mic, line in...... Ummmm, I have not recently installed any new programmes or played around with any settings, its just vanished!!

First take a look in your System32 folder,is the file sndvol32.exe present or not.
If you can't find it,download/unzip the file attached below to the above folder, then restart your pc.
