| Everytime I run Windows Live Mail it freezes. SOmehow it manages to download the email but I cannot view it until I start the task manager and end task. Then when I enter live mail again I can view the email but it always freezes showing what you see on the screen shot. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa245/Christopher379/livemail.jpg If I close out of Windows Live Mail I can restart it and I will be able to click on 1 new email and view it. Then it starts 'downloading & receieving' all those things you see in the screen shot and it freezes again, not allowing me to view anymore messages.

I found this on the live mail support site:
You should try a *complete* uninstall/reinstall as described below:
Complete uninstall:
1. After backing up your messages & accounts through the export
options, uninstall Windows Live Mail through Control Panel.
2. Now use Regedit (or your favourite registry editor) to delete the
registry Keys (if they exist)*
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail desktop
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail desktop
3. Now navigate to your WLMail Message Store folder** and rename it (so
you can keep it as a backup - messages can be dragged from the message
store to your WLMail interface as a method of importing them, or you can
import messages directly from your old Messages Store through
File->Import->Messages...->Windows Live Mail->Browse... [button] to your
old Windows Live Mail Message Store folder. Also, if any extra
spellchecking languages have been installed, or you want to re-use your
custom dictionary, then the contents of the "Proof" folder (within the
default location Storage Folder) should be backed up so you can restore it
after the reinstall).
4. Go to the 'Windows Live Mail' 'Program Files' folder (C:\Program
Files\Windows Live\Mail) and delete it.
5. Run Windows Live Beta Remover*** if necessary.
6. Reboot your computer.
7. Now install WLMail and import your accounts and messages****. It
may be best to disable any antivirus program you are running while
installing WLM and running it for the first time.
*Note that because the registry key is deleted, messages, accounts, and
message rules will be imported again from Outlook Express/Windows Mail, so
if you do not want this to happen, first delete them from those redundant
mail clients.
**To find the location of your message store, go
Tools->Options...->Advanced [tab]->Maintenance->Store Folder (the default
location is a hidden folder). If you have moved your Storage Folder from
its default location, you should also delete/rename the old Storage Folder
which remains in the default location.
The default location of Windows Live Mail's Message Store is:
Vista: %localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail
(C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live
Mail)
XP: %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows
Live Mail
(C:\Documents and Settings\\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail)
If you could give this a try, it may help. Post back if not. Sleep calls

| THanks so much for the info and help! Turns out, I managed to get Outlook 2007 up and running beautifully 2 handle both my hotmail accounts without having to sign in seperately like I did with WLM. It's fantastic! I wil use your intructions to remove Windows Live Mail completely. Thought I would ask, do you know how I can edit the security settings in Outlook 2007? Apparently Microsoft has it desgined so that you cannot view pictures and open attachments for corporate security I'm assuming. I currently have Attachment Security for Outlook installed which actually does a nice job of overriding these security settings but the only thing I find with it is that the pictures in an email show the little red x for a couple seconds before displaying the images. I realize this is getting a little bit picky but thought it would be neat to learn how to edit the default MS settings for Outlook without aig to run a 3rd party app. Thanks Richie Chris~
