I've just installed Win 7 7127, and all my favorite programs & all is working flawlessly.
Try using a 4GB usb stick. I never do DVD installs any more
I am running an Asus A7V8X-X mobo, would I be able to boot from a USB stick?

I had a couple of USB sticks but the kids said they needed them for school. The kids lost them within a week and now I don't have any lol.
I'm not real good with chronological time, but I figure my computer has to be going on 6 years old.

Found this archived on Google regarding your motherboard:
The system has a "Promise Ultra 133 TX2" IDE controller
which supercedes the mainboard BIOS.
To make the system react on the USB stick i set boot
option "USB ZIP" on both BIOSes. (Unclear whether the
mainboard BIOS is in effect at all after the IDE
controller takes over.)
None of the BIOSes offered me any other USB boot
option (like "USB HDD" or so).

It is. I ran BelArc Advisor again, here is what I got from them.
Main Circuit Board b
Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. A7V8X-X REV 1.xx
BIOS: Award Software, Inc. ASUS A7V8X-X ACPI BIOS Revision 1013 09/02/2004
Having 2 Gb's of RAM sure does make a difference in the way Windows 7 runs though, it is so much more snappy. I'm tempted to install XP & see how it runs with another gig of RAM.
