Curious if anything has been turned up on the greyed out thing, I still haven't been able to find anything that told me how to fix it.

The EFS Encrypt feature is only available in the Vista Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions.
It will remain grayed out in the Vista Home Basic and Home Premium editions.

Well I have Home Premium. I guess that means I can't do anything. That's not good.
Is there any program that allows you to encrypt files without that feature?

File Encryption is free application to help users protect your their files and personal data by encrypting them into inaccessible, scrambled form which can be opened only after entering a correct password.
