In Vista when using the Mail program or windows explorer,if I go over a specific
line the hilite is a glassy pale blue. In XP I knew where to go to change the hiliting
but in Vista I've been unable to find something similar. Even tried different themes
but none of the 5 I tried changed that particular setting. Is there a way to change
this in Vista or is it something I just have to live with??

Thanks

I've noticed that to be a bigger issue when using LCD Flat Panel monitors, not so much with CRT or CRT Flat Screen monitors.

I've seen this complaint before but have not seen any solutions.

Well after a full day of searching and reading till my eyes were bleeding it
seems there is no solution for this mouse over problem in Vista as long
as you want to use Aero (I Do). That's really a shame cause so far I've
thrown away 2 complete folders of great stuff because I didn't realize they
were highlighted and I got in such a habit in XP of holding Shift to bypass
the recycle bin. Looks like I'll have to stop doing that in Vista. Also in Vista
there was a folder above Program Files that I think also started with a P
that I accidently tossed. Hope it wasn't important??

That probably would have been the PerfLogs folder, and not critical to the running of Vista.

%SystemDrive%\perflogs\System\Diagnostics

The PerfLogs folder is created by Performance Information and Tools, and Reliability and Performance Monitor that tests and measures Vista system score rating and performance to save the recorded files. The data is saved in “perflogs\System\Diagnostics” according to folders named by date. If you no longer need the performance data, delete the folder. Vista will slim down by about 10 MB.
It contains all of the data files that are created by the Reliability and Performance Monitor in Vista.
