Hi
I was wandering around the stores today looking at T.V.'s and noticed they have USB ports in them. Can a USB hard drive be plugged into a LCD or Plasma T.V. that has USB ports so that movies could be watched from the hard drive?

I've done it with a SSD (solid state drive), not sure if an actual hard drive is supported. No harm in trying though :P

Hey Gujusouljah long time no see.
I've thought about plugging it in to the T.V. but I'm scared. If the drive gets wrecked it's no big deal, but if the T.V. bites the green cookie that's 12 Benjamins.

Checked up on the USB specs, and the only media you can play off of it is MP3 and JPEG. I flipped through the online manual and deduced, from pages 34 & 47, that YES you can plug in an external HDD.
Hope this helps

Sure does, Thank you. Maybe I'll roll my whole desk top into the T.V. room and plug it into the T.V..
Thanks for the link to the on-line manual too.
