| my post times display one hour later than when i actually send them. my time zone is +5:30 GMT.

In your Control Panel for this site, scroll down and click on Forum Settings(left column). then scroll down and find the time zone box. Then you'll see that little box about your issue right under it.

Thanks, i see it and also that the time zone is set to +5:30 GMT which is correct, but still the problem, for e.g. my clock says 4:16 IST right now

Then try un checking or checking that box just under the time zone and see if that changes it. It says it will.

I have just unticked 'Observe Daylight Saving Time'; testing 123,...it is now 8:18 PM. If this works, i will have been so dumb, and blind too....(self-rebuke, no sarcasm intended)

Maybe the board switches to a "default time zone" when you are not logged in. I would think it has too. If you are exactly GMT -12, you would see AM and PM changes only. That sounds funny as I read it back, but that is most likely the issue.
