Can anyone PLEASE help me? I've been searching for days and simply cannot find a way to get my CRT to do it's super high res modes with my Radeon HD 3870 x2. This IBM 21" CRT can do 2560x1600, 2560x1920 and even 3200x2400 in interlace at 110Hz. I was able to get them working under XP using Powerstrip but not in Vista. In Catalyst I now at least have 2560x1600 visible under max resolutions in Monitor Properties but it still only shows 2048x1536 in the desktop modes. I've tried installing a fresh Vista installation with no luck. The monitors EDID info might be the issue since it doesn't report the higher resolutions. This shouldn't be so hard to do and I don't get it. Any help would be great so thanks in advance.

Have you tried to update your video card drivers? That worked for me in Vista.

I've tried every textbook thing you would do to resolve a hardware issue. This involves something advanced and considering that I'm a die hard techie this is frustrating to me. The thing I guess I need to know (and can't find anywhere) is how do you just tell windows Vista (or even XP) or the video drivers to just go into a screen resolution? I've been thinking that maybe it's the Radeon drivers that are making this difficult. Something is blocking anything over 2048x1536. Btw, I even disabled the EDID pin in one of my DVI-A to VGA adapters but that caused my PC to not see a display device connected and even lock up too. I reminisce of the days of old when you could set your screen depth to anything you wanted with minimal tweaking. Seems those days are long gone. I had to manually tweak my registry just to get the higher mode to show up under 'max resolution' but why then doesn't it appear under even the 'force...' screen selections button? Man this is just frustrating to know that I have this capability and the graphics card to use it but can't.
