thanks so much for the help, but i ran into two small issues...

the first file to be deleted, ...rege2usb.dll, won't let me delete it, it says access is denied...i checked, it's not write protected and i was in safe mode

the second file, ...nfmohid.dll, doesn't exist...or i can't find it...

any help would be greatly appreciated!  thanks for everything thus far...
