Turn off System Restore, reboot, turn it back on again.Doing this will remove all restore points, along with any possible virus/trojan/spyware problems inside them. Now run This online virus scan, then download and scan with the free trial of TrojanHunter. Then go Here and follow the instructions at numbers 3,4&6. If after doing all that and your still having problems, post a log into the Hijack This section of the forum, using This version of Hijack This.

I'm having exactly the same issues with msconfig I'm running WinXP Pro SP2 McAfee Virus Scan 9.0, Firewall V. 6.0 I've run all prescribed steps earlier in this thread, in addtion to Symantecs online virus scan, and Microsofts new Spyware Beta 1. And have not returned any results. This is a rather frustrating issue, any help is greatly appreciated.
