Is there a utility that will detect the type and size of memry installed. I know how to see total memory and all that. I want to be able to run program on a pc and get the type and size of simms installed. That way I can determine the needs of a PC without opening a PC and try to read that fine fine print on simms . Older tecky LOL
Thanks.

bios displays often show how many and what size, and what slots. just a matter of turning display thing on, so you can see it when booting. that would determine how many slots are filled with what size. almost everything else can be quickly determined on a memory manufacturers site. like the big manufacturers have memory selection web junk, that can select the type of memory that is to be installed in a specific model of computer or motherboard.
oh i forgot to mention Welcome to the forum
OK, so i am Guessing, but i try hard

Psyco thanks!
What i am looking for may not exist. I want a small (fit on a floppy) utility that will access bios (safer than having someone open and play in bios area) that will output data by say:
SLOT1=DDRAM 128MB (with/without party) manufactuer (if possible)
SLOT2= blah blah blah
I do the other now which is fine for me but I don't trust others in BIOS setup
