Grab it while it's hot. Here's the main Windows Developer Preview: General OS questions forum to go read, or post about it. I personally created a small small partition from unused space on my primary HD and installed it there from a USB stick, Installation was extremely quick. This is a developer preview, many things don't work yet but you can get a look around the new UI.Note: Apps do not close. Hit the windows key to return to the ribbon and start a different app. A lot of people are freaking out on this, there's no need to close apps (programs) no alt tab, no alt-f4. Think of it as an overgrown Iphone.

Two thirds of Windows PCs can't use Internet Explorer 9
Microsoft may have a tough time building significant market share for its new Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) browser because eligible users are in the minority.
http://bit.ly/c7hNmC

Microsoft's IE9 beta coming in September

Microsoft will ship a beta of Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) in September, a company executive said yesterday.
http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/news/index.cfm?newsid=3233810

Windows 7 SP1 beta coming in January?
Rumours are circulating about the first Windows 7 service pack, just ten days after the operating system's official release.
As with any Windows release, Microsoft engineers start tackling bugs as soon as the OS becomes available, so reports detailing plans for Windows 7 SP1 aren't surprising.
http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/news/index.cfm?newsid=3205368

Clock ticking on Windows 7 RC downloads
Those wanting to try out Microsoft's next OS before its official release need to act fast: the download period for the Windows 7 Release Candidate ends on Thursday.
http://bit.ly/PTK1D

Windows 7 Beta and Release Candidate Update

Windows 7 Beta and Release Candidate Update:
http://bit.ly/LDaXs

Microsoft to pull Windows 7 Release Candidate in August
Microsoft has announced that the Release Candidate program for Windows 7 will cease in mid-August.
pcpro.co.uk/news

Windows 7 build 7600

I've been seeing that build 7600 has been leaked, are there other builds that were released previous to this?

Can 7600 be downloaded from MS? This works fine.

I am looking at the required work to change XP for the RC of Win7 and once I get my pre-ordered copy of Home or Pro (not sure of the finances yet)and then replace the RC with the full fat version.

I understand that the XP partition will need formatting before I install Win7 but my concern is that as XP was installed first I will loose the boot record and Vista will not be seen. Yes I know people will say don't bother with Vista but I currently use it too much so need a transition period.

Many thanks for you anticipated input.

Win 7 testers, your beta is about to expire
If you’re one of those Windows 7 testers still running the Beta — and not the Release Candidate — of Microsoft’s next-generation client, it’s time to get the lead out.
http://blogs.zdnet.com/microsoft/?p=3151

Windows 7 Build 7127 or Build 7100

Hey everyone, Just as the topic line states there was a version 7127 released on torrent sites. I'm aware that only official Microsoft downloads are considered "safe". But i wanted to know if anyone has used this build and seen any improvements over the official RC 7100. Or is this build just a fake and loaded with spyware?

10 fake updates for Windows 7
Microsoft will roll out a series of fake patches for Windows 7, as it begins to test the Automatic Updates feature.
pcpro.co.uk/news

Windows 7 'to launch in October, RTM August'

Windows 7 will ship to PC makers in August:
http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/news/index.cfm?newsid=115670

Windows 7 RC released

Windows 7 Release Candidate
Download instructions:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/download.aspx
