when i try to run i keep an error saying it cannot create a file in the host file location.
any ideas why?

Very strange browser behaviour following Google searches

I've never had a problem like this before, but here goes - when I type a search term in google then click on any result, it redirects me to some other site I've never heard of - http://vacmoresherry.com/ and say's 'jumping' on the tab :unsure: Sometimes it even goes to another search engine I've never heard of(Britannia search of something like that). Seems like it's some kind of browser hijacker. Also, I have more processes running in the background than before, and I'm not sure what some of them are. Here's what I've tried so far:-

-CC Cleaner
-Avast
-Spybot Search and Destroy
-Adaware

I got rid of everything that came up in these and updated all my definitions. The problem still persists though. I know I'm probably going to have to put up a log in the Hijack This section, but is there anything else I can try? And has anyone else ever encountered this particular problem? Many thanks :)

I would like to use the OTMoveit program to help me remove some maleware but I cannot find a download site for it any more. They all come up 404. The one "404" below was the latest URL I can find:

I was recovering my cousins hard drive and opened up a few files and have managed to get hit.

The following is what is going on.

Task manager disabled by admin ( so I no longer have access to it)
Warning Security Alert (pops up in bottom right corner)
Suspicious Vundo( Alert from Nortons )

PC very slow atm I'm running Malwarebytes' full scan
And Spyware Doctor full scan

Scared atm not to restart pc thinking it won't start back up

(EDIT) I would run other software but really not sure If I would help it or make things worse
(EDIT) Was also thinking of canceling spyware doctor's full scan and letting Malwarebytes continue

PC slower than a tortoise

Hi there,

it has been a while since I have used your services, but I am having problems accessing the internet paricularly.

Very slow, 4 hours to download an email. Still don't think it downloaded, as it got to 98% and then hung.

I don't know if it is related but I cannot access websites, they take ages then decide to hang and don't connect. I can just get into Google, then no further.

If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

runtime error 0 when i try to run the malwarebytes program

This computer definitely has alot of spywares so i was installing the malwarebytes program to scan the system. apparently, when i click to launch the program, i got a runtime error 0 message box. What should I do?

Hi all

Just wanted to know how someone could hack a hotmail account,

Been doing a lot of reading & some people say you can now hack via phones!

My gfs email got hacked so I am just curious as i would like to know how / what to do to prevent things like this, also how the hell can they beat a firewall/ anti v or some people said your pc can be hacked via facebook too. :S

Hi all,

my girlfriends hotmail & facebook have been hacked into, she does not sign in anywere except at home and her phone.

after cpntacting hotmail we have managed to deleat her email however someone is still in her facebook chatting sh** to her friends, facebook was contacted but have yet not replied,

I have run scans on her pc for spybot 7 anti virus and deleated all the spyware.

after reading up on keyloggers i checked her processes and found a few processes which had no business on her pc,

1 process was tmp.exe..., I ended it and via msconfig I unticked it for startup.

Can anyone suggest a way of checking for any keyloggers or anyway to check if someone has hacked her pc as she also does online banking and is worried.

i had malware doctor i ran spy ware doctor to get rid of it

now when i plug my zip drives in any usb on my computer it wont let me access the it says

windows has exceed the amount of secrets and when i unplug the zip drives it will reboot my computer ? also system restore does not work?

any sugestions?

I thought I had eliminated this problem but it is back. Every now and then an audio "Happy New Year" is heard. It just did it two times a minute apart.

How do I "search and destroy" this one?

Virus on Dell Laptop

My daughter was using laptop last night and a window popped up saying WinPC detected a trojan. She didn't click anything but its showing this as an anti virus programme thats running as theres a WinPC icon in tray on screen. I've run windows live safety scanner, AVG Free, and am currently running spybot.

Nothing is showing in add/remove programmes but we know its there somewhere. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Whenever i try to update windows xp using url(http://update.microsoft.com/) the site is rediercted to google search page, but in the address bar the above url is retained.

I formatted entier hard disk (Quick Format) and reinstalled Windows xp Professional and have scanned the system using Mcaffee and ad-aware. but the problem has not been solved.

can u please help me out.

Overly Paranoid Virut question

I, like many others, have been infected with the dreaded Virut and have been reading up on it in order to not repeat the same posts and questions.

However, I have a question that I haven't seen addressed yet and apologies if it has and I missed it!

To frame the question correctly, here's the backstory:
My audio recording computer has become infected with Virut (huge bummer) and I had somewhere on the order of 1600 infected files on all connected drives when AVG asked me to restart. (And of course, explorer.exe was corrupt on the restart and it won't fully boot. I figure all is lost now, I just turned it off for the time being.)

Anyways, everything on the C: drive is fodder, I keep very little data I would like to preserve on it. However, there's pretty much entire archives of things that are irreplaceable on the secondary drive and external that was connected during the infection.

Now, I'm ignorant and listless, so I wanted to make sure before I mess myself up good!

My question is, [b]after I format, is it possible for those secondary and external drives to reinfect my main drive? What precautions/methods should I take in trying to clean those drives after a reformat?[/b] Preserving that data is a life and death matter! (Being a little dramatic, but very important to me!)
